Common Application member colleges have stipulated that applicants may not add more than 20 colleges. The college list cannot be expanded for any applicant. You can apply to more colleges that have their own application forms or through Coalition for Access & Affordability .
How do you add more colleges to the Common App?
You may add a college using the add button in the search results list. You can also select a college and add them using the “Add to My Colleges” button from their info screen. Once you’ve added colleges, you can see them on your Dashboard and in your My Colleges tab. Keep in mind you may only add up to 20 colleges.

Clearing is how unis and colleges fill any places they still have on their courses. From 5 July – 19 October, you can apply for a course using Clearing if you’re not already holding an offer from a university or college, and the course still has places. You can use Clearing if: you’re applying after 30 June.
What if I get no offers from universities?
If you decline the offer, or you don’t get a decision within 21 days, you can add another choice. It might take universities and colleges longer than 21 days to reply – they have until midnight on 12 July to make their decisions, but it’s up to you whether you want to wait or replace them with a different choice.
Do universities know if they are your firm choice?
Universities will only know where else you’ve applied once they’ve made their decision and you’ve decided whether or not to accept them as your firm or insurance choice.
What if I made a mistake on my common app?
On the Common Application, if your mistake appears on any component other than the essay, you can correct it without creating a new version of the Common Application. If, however, the mistake was in your essay, then you will need to create an alternate version of your essay in the Common Application system.

If you entered inaccurate information, write a detailed email or letter to the admissions office stating the corrected information. In order to simplify this process, be clear and specific. Do not leave it to the admissions officer to guess what you are trying to get across.
Can I change my major after submitting application?
Not all colleges will allow you to change your major after you have been accepted into your declared major program. You must be absolutely sure that you are not going to change your mind once you have declared your major.
